For many of us, our pets are part of our families. I know that's true for my husband and me with our adopted animals. Pets come in many different breeds, sizes, shapes and colors. And just like human beings, each pet has its own unique personality.

The purpose for creating Pet Matchmaker was the realization that, although there are many resources available for pet adoption, many people do not have the time to do the hours of research and leg work that is involved. In addition, breeds of animals can vary widely when it comes to behavior, getting along with children and other household pets, exercise necessity, and other traits that need to be taken into account when making a decision. We will make sure the pet we match you with is one that will be perfect for your situation. That is why we take so much time upfront getting to know each of our clients on an individual basis. Because in the long run, if a placement does not work out, everyone loses.

Our mission is to give as many animals as possible a second chance for a good life while simultaneously helping people find their perfect pet. We do not look to store fronts that sell pets. Rather, our focus is on placing pets that are currently in Rescue Breed Groups and shelters, foster homes or animal control. These animals are unwanted or lost pets of previous guardians that have ended up in these facilities.

In most cases, these animals are great pets in search of someone that will give them a second chance at a good life. The animals found here are in desperate need of a new home and most of these facilities are filled to capacity. If new homes are not found, these animals will be euthanized or, if it is a no-kill facility, additional animals cannot be accommodated until the ones they have are placed.

We work closely with many facilities throughout the country. Our network of partners gives us virtually unlimited access to all types of pets. On a daily basis, we are making personal visits and spending countless hours communicating with as many facilities as possible. This information and knowledge allows us to quickly and accurately match our client's criteria.
